Layered Lower Level

Maple Leaf, Seattle

Custom laundry room featuring a soapstone counter, wall-mounted faucet, and decorative Portuguese tile backsplash by Full Bloom Interior Design in Seattle.

This full gut remodel expanded the basement of this family’s home, adding a family room and laundry area. In the family room, custom plum-toned built-ins frame a soapstone fireplace, while vintage-inspired details like beadboard and brass accents honor the home’s 1930s roots. In the laundry area, a soapstone counter and tile sourced in Portugal were selected to bring the same sense of character and craftsmanship to a highly functional space. The result is a thoughtfully layered lower level that balances mood and charm, creating spaces the family uses and enjoys every day.
